Tangram (1st ESO)

INTRODUCTION
To do a Tecnological Project we have to combine a lot of technical processes related to engineering, physics and others. Our first project will be basic.

THE PROJECT
At the moment, we're learning how to do a project. It has got six parts:
1.- Describe a need or a problem that we want to solve.
2.- Think about several solutions.
3.- Choose the best.
4.- Draw the plans with all the parts (design, measures, the drawing box...), do the material list, the budget...
5.- Build it.
6.- And finally, evaluate our project: test and check.

OUR WORK
To improve our planning skills, we first built some three-dimensional models. Afterwards, we studied the shape and drew it from 3 angles: the front view, the side view and overhead view.
The next step was to do the complete project about the tangram, following all the steps.
We had to think about a problem which solution was a tangram. So, when we were at the step of drawig the plans we designed it in the 1.1 escale and then we built it.

CONSTRUCTION
We cut the wood with the saw and we made the tangram. We could paint it, too, and eventually,we experienced with it playing to make diferent shapes.

A traffic light (2nd ESO)

Technology
A traffic light

Our teacher asked us to make an electric circuit but with a condition, it should be in the form of traffic light.

We must make two parts: a written part and the model.

In the written part we have to define a problem, propose several solutions, and then we have to choose the best. We also have to draw the plans, write the material list, the worksheet that describes our project step-by-step, and the budget.

When we have done the written part we can build the model. The teacher told us that the traffic light should be made with recycled material. At the moment, all the groups are making their traffic light.

Cardboard bookshelf (3rd ESO)

Hi everybody!
Let's see what 3rd of ESO students have done as 1st Technology project of the course.

Our teacher asked us to build a bookshelf, but with an important condition, we could only use cardboard! We would have to present an essay explaining step-by-step the process of the construction, the materials, the budget, the drawings and so on. The same day we gave the project to the teacher.
Each group did a presentation demonstrating to the class how we built the bookshelf . As you know, we study Technology in English, so each group could decide if we wanted to present  in English or in Catalan. A remarkable feature of this project is that in most of the bookshelves all the materials are reused. Therefore, they didn't cost money, but took some  effort!
Here, you can see some of the results:
